Oh! I got plenty of time. Oh! You got light in your eyes.

First we meet.
I have so many favorite parts of the design and client experience, but one of the best is the intro meeting when I get to know you a bit and hear what you are looking for. This is where I listen to your vision, ask some questions, tell you some ideas and information, and we figure out if we’re the right fit for each other. Weddings, events, baby showers, nursery paintings, custom heraldry, custom paintings, stationery, product collaborations, branding... I love anything that gets me designing and working with you and making your vision come to life. (Some of my favorite projects have started with “Hey, this is crazy, but would ever be able to do something like [insert idea]?” Yes. Yes I would.) But weddings are how I realized this was my calling, and designing the art story of your wedding and coupledom is something that will forever be my happy place. When it comes to weddings, if there is a question about whether or not to do something, I say let’s go for it. Make it you. Tell your story.

Then I crunch some numbers (but I’m already dreaming).
I then take away the information and work on a pricing estimate based on your budget and big ideas. Pricing is driven by the paper and printing costs and how involved the design work is. Despite working in finance for 14 years, I hate talking about the money part. It’s just unfun. But boy is the finished product worth it!

Then we get to the good stuff - designing!
You can be as involved or uninvolved in this process as you want. I love collaborating throughout, and I also love getting to know your vision really well at the beginning and then doing my thing and showing you something that blows your mind at the end. Generally, I do a pencil sketch, you approve it (or we do some revisions until you’re wowed) and then once I’ve received your approval, I move on to the watercolor portion, which I typically cannot change as much once I have finished. If you’re up for it, I like to keep in touch over text while I’m working on items so that you can see progress and make quick decisions on what you love or don’t.

Et voila!
By the end, we are BFF and the art we have created together is an extension of you.

So what’s the timing?
It all depends. Since 99% of what I do is custom, I work with you on your timeline, and it also depends on what I have slotted already into the calendar. I do weddings and also other custom art work, and the timing for each is very different. Custom artwork is 1-2 months, and for weddings we will want to start chatting a year to 9 months before the big day if I am doing your save the date, 6-8 months before for a wedding suite and 4 months before for day-of and weekend-of items. If it’s the whole shebang, the earlier the better so we can really get it planned and organized.

Need something yesterday?
I can always rush something. Just ask and we can see what needs to be done.
From the 'Gram...

If a little dreaming is dangerous, the cure for it is not to dream less, but to dream more, to dream all the time.

Page headers currently feature lyrics from Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody),” written by David Byrne. This song, along with The Beatles’ “I Am The Walrus,” has been stuck in my head for the better part of 2020 and is making the pandemic more tolerable and inspiring me to create new beauty around me. I hope it brings you some joy too.
